Step 1

  • Review the Benchmark Goals you set for yourself in Getting Started, what is it that you hope to know and/or be able to do at the conclusion of the course?

A.  Comment on your achievements thus far

I have made many achievements and accomplishments. I now know about so many things I did not know about before. 

B.  Are you making good progress toward your goal?

Yes definitely. 

C.  Have you been able to stretch yourself to learn more or do you find that you rely only on what you already knew prior to the course?

Yes I stretch myself to learn something new every class because I had slim to no prior knowledge before the course.

D.  What has been the greatest benefit/most rewarding aspect of your learning experience this semester?

Applying knowledge to my playing, e.g. scales, key signatures.

E.  What might interfere with your progress and how can you prevent this interference?

Getting distracted by listening to others or engaging in conversations that don't relate to music theory

My goals have been to stay on task and I am doing better at staying on task, however, I still have room to improve.

B.   What has been your greatest strength?

Working with Leah to combine our abilities and knowledge.

C.   How can you compensate for weaknesses?

Double time that we work at.  

D.   In what ways might you modify your approach to the class during the second part of the semester?

I will make a game plan with Leah because it helps us to stay on task.

Not focusing on my work by getting side tracked on my goals and focusing

My areas of needed improvement are in the listening sections of the reviews

B.  Will you continue to sculpt the work reflected in your ePortfolio as you did for the first half of the course or do you plan on making changes for the second part of the semester?

I will continue to work on my e-portfolio
